The many bays and estuaries in the San Carlos area offer outstanding kayaking, particularly in the morning as well as other days with calm water. Although we can customize tours throughout the San Carlos area, most of our activity takes place in the bay in front of our location at the condominiums Pilar and Delfin, and in the nearby Estero Soldero. This large protected estuary is home to numerous varieties of migrating birds and lies in the morning shadow of the majestic Bacochibampo mountain. Guided tours take you through the mazes of the estuary to locate and identify with binoculars the captivating and intriguing birds found throughout. If you just want to go at it on your own, hourly and daily rentals exist with assisted launching. The local dolphins cruise by daily, and whether you just want to get some exercise, or cruise all the way to the islands, we have a kayak for you. Kayak fishing in the area is fantastic at times, and we can also guide or equip you for that adventure. Come experience the peace and exercise of kayaking to truly feel in touch with the sea.

Sailing

Our fleet of boats range from small mono-hulls to 18’ Hobie catamarans. Guided tours are available as well as professional instruction. Morning winds are light, usually followed by breezier afternoons. Rescue boats stand at the ready if assistance is needed. Rentals can be purchased hourly or in blocks. There is no better way to relax and enjoy the scenery than when cruising the bay on the power of the wind.

Windsurfing

If you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out. Windsurfing can be learned and done by anyone, and our instructors and boats are ready to assist you. Excellent exercise and a sense of accomplishment can be had by those who are persistent. Conditions are everything, so plan to try when the wind is light and the waves are small. For those experienced sailors, we offer advanced instruction, equipment, and advice on various popular local areas to sail. Always an excellent place for beginners and intermediates, but San Carlos can also produce challenging advanced conditions. Try it and you may just develop a lifelong passion for this safe sport.

Sportfishing

San Carlos offers outstanding sportfishing year round, and we can set up any trip to meet your needs with our associates in the charter fleet. The fishing calendar page on this website gives an overview of the types of fish and seasons. Our charter partners have very safe boats (mostly twin engines, with GPS, and VHF radios), top of the line fishing tackle, experienced Mexican captains, and fishing expertise to ensure success with the target species of the day. We practice “catch and release” on all billfish, and one of our partners has a plastic marlin replica so that you can record your “catch” on camera.
